Hungarian Falls gives the Keweenaw a concentrated winter climbing objective above Tamarack City. Local climbers visit the main falls and neighboring ice formations when sustained cold allows them to form. Keweenaw Land Trust protects the upper falls property; surrounding ownership includes state and private land. Follow established paths and check local access advice. Golf Course Road is seasonal and unplowed in winter, so the summer access point is not a winter driving destination. Airport estimates use the mapped access road and exclude the winter walk and any road restrictions.
