Pinnacles National Park offers volcanic face climbing on the east and west sides of its rugged formations, including Discovery Wall, the Monolith and Machete Ridge. The breccia is weaker than granite and fixed hardware is not maintained by the park. Use designated climbing-access trails and check current raptor advisories, which commonly affect cliffs from January through July. The park's two road entrances do not connect through the park.
